Mystery as Mexican rapper Bela Rush, 33, is found dead four weeks after vanishing with many of her fans suggesting foul play and cops remaining quiet on her cause of death
Family members have confirmed that the body found in a bag earlier this month is that of missing rapper Bela Rush.
The 33-year-old artist, whose real name is Ana Zamora, disappeared on March 27 after leaving home for work. Residents in the Puebla neighborhood of Flor de Bosque alerted municipal police on April 1 after spotting a large bag covered with a tarp resembling a human body under the Periférico Bridge.
The body was taken to the city's forensic medical service and kept there for 25 days. Bela Rush's family visited the morgue on Sunday and identified her through a tattoo depicting her artistic name on her right forearm.
One of her family members expressed gratitude on social media for everyone who helped in the search for @belarush. However, neither the family nor authorities have disclosed the cause of her death, although her body reportedly showed signs of violence.
Her passing leaves behind a 10-year-old daughter. Bela Rush gained recognition in the music industry in 2017 for her unique voice in the local hip-hop scene, with songs like 'Nada,' 'No se meta,' 'Quién nos frena,' and 'Yo nací.' She also featured on Kukito Klan's 'Promesas bastardas.'
Her friend Gabriella Hernández expressed sorrow on Facebook, saying Bela Rush didn't deserve the tragic events that led to her death, and lamented the loss of a talented artist who deserved a better life.
