Mystery Deepens as Two Missing Georgia Firefighters Found Dead in Tennessee
The bodies of Chandler Kuhbander and Reaegan Anderson, two firefighters from Hinesville, Georgia, were discovered in a car in Cocke County, Tennessee, on Sunday. The pair had been missing for several days, leaving authorities and their families grappling with unanswered questions about their final hours.
Details surrounding their deaths have not yet been released, and the remains have been sent for autopsy to determine the cause. The Hinesville Police Department expressed their condolences on social media, saying, “We extend our deepest condolences to the Anderson and Kuhbander families during this incredibly difficult time.”
The remains have been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death. According to WBIR, Anderson was last seen on June 25 at a Liberty County Fire Service station and was believed to be with Kuhbander.
Kuhbander's mother, Jane, posted on social media after her son was reported missing, claiming that Anderson had coerced her son and that she posed a danger to herself. She also suggested that Kuhbander did not leave willingly with Anderson. However, police have not confirmed these claims. The families had mentioned that the two were romantically involved but had broken up before their disappearance.
Jane Kuhbander recounted to WJCL that her son appeared calm and unhurried when he was last seen leaving a building, saying, "At 11:40 my son walks out of the building and he looks very comfortable, like he just had his workout. He doesn’t look rushed as he walks through the parking lot. After that, we don’t see him again."
Reflecting on the situation, she added, “You don’t want to be in this position, and when you see it on television, I can see how they feel. Then it hits you, like, I am that person. I do feel that way. This is terrifying and you have no answers.”
The investigation into their deaths continues as authorities seek to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
