Nigerian man stabs his roommate to death during argument in Portugal (video)

A 22-year-old Nigerian man was tragically killed by his 24-year-old roommate in Portugal following an argument.

The incident unfolded at approximately 11 pm on Friday, April 19, 2024, at a local accommodation space on Rua do Bonfim, Porto, where both individuals resided.

Reports from the Portuguese newspaper, Jornal de Noticias (JN), indicate that the two Nigerians engaged in a heated argument that escalated into a violent confrontation. The older man allegedly attacked his roommate multiple times with a sharp object during the altercation.

After spending several hours with the deceased's body in their shared room, the suspect attempted to leave the premises but was apprehended by the PSP (Public Security Police).

Authorities from the Judiciary Police have been called to the scene and are actively investigating the tragic incident.

Ângela Bragança, an employee at "Angel Coffee," a nearby commercial establishment, made a distressing discovery when she arrived for work on Saturday morning. She described seeing the body inside the accommodation, noting that it was the only thing she observed upon her arrival. The scene also caught her attention due to an out-of-place rubbish bin.

Despite her proximity to the incident, Ângela expressed that she did not know either the victim or the perpetrator involved in the altercation. She mentioned having assisted two young men who entered the hostel the previous day but was uncertain if they were the individuals in question. Ângela further emphasized that while the café often serves customers from local accommodations, such a tragic event had never occurred before.
