NYC teen stabbed to death by neighbor over parking spot
A 19-year-old Bronx man lost his life in a tragic incident involving a dispute over a parking spot with his neighbor.
Dominic Cruz Aguilera was at his home in Morris Heights when his neighbor, Vladimir Lopez German, 45, aggressively knocked on his door, demanding Aguilera to move his car, as reported by authorities. This encounter unfolded shortly before 8:30 a.m. Thursday, according to both law enforcement officials and police sources.
Sources indicated that when Aguilera went outside to adjust his parking spot near Inwood Avenue and Featherbed Lane, a heated argument ensued between the two, culminating in an enraged Lopez German allegedly stabbing Aguilera in the chest with a knife.
After being wounded, Aguilera managed to reach a nearby bodega, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries and bled out. “I kept yelling and I said, ‘He’s going to die, he’s going to die,'” recounted bodega worker Wendy Reinoso to the station.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) rushed Aguilera to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, but despite their efforts, he could not be saved.
His grieving brother, who ran an auto body shop with him, fondly remembered Aguilera as a “beautiful person” and “the best brother ever.” “The best brother ever. I’m not saying that because he passed away. He always got my back,” he expressed.
Lopez German, who is reported to work as an Uber driver, was apprehended later and charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Awaiting arraignment at Bronx Criminal Court on Friday morning, this marked his first arrest, and he resided across the street from the victim, according to the police.
