Osun Priestess, Islamic Cleric, 8 Others Arrested For Ritual Killings
The Lagos State Police Command reported the arrest of a gang of 10 suspected ritualists who specialize in killing people and selling their body parts to ritualists.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed their arrest on Friday, while parading them before journalists.
Hundeyin stated that the gang's leader, a 33-year-old man named Ademola Akinlosotu, used to exhume corpses from cemeteries and sell the parts to money ritualists.
He mentioned that among those arrested were a community chief, an Ifa priest, an Osun priestess, an Islamic cleric, and a traditional medicine practitioner.
The arrests were made based on intelligence reports from the public, according to Hundeyin. He also noted that the suspects would be charged to court once investigations were concluded.
Speaking to journalists during the parade, Ademola, the gang leader, admitted to obtaining human parts from dead bodies buried at the cemetery before he started killing people—a practice he had engaged in for years.
Ademola explained that he resorted to killing people to harvest fresh parts as his clients demanded them, not dead body parts. He confessed to supplying the harvested parts to a 52-year-old man named Ahmed Wahab, also known as Alfa Bororo, who operated in Badagry, Lagos State, and Ogun.
He detailed the prices of human body parts, mentioning that a fresh human head sells for N45,000 or N50,000, while a dry one goes for N30,000 to N35,000. Hearts are priced at N70,000, and hands at N50,000.
Ademola admitted to killing two people, including a friend he met online, before he was apprehended. He claimed that before each killing, they consulted a herbalist to ascertain if it would be successful or lead to trouble.
The suspect also alleged that a traditional ruler in Badagry had requested him to kill his troublesome son but that the day they planned the killing coincided with his online friend's visit, resulting in the friend's death.
According to Ademola, he only needed the head, heart, and hands for his clients.
