Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has secured the release of his elder brother, Jude Okoye, from custody by staking his Ikoyi property while standing as his surety.

Jude Okoye, the former manager of the defunct music duo P-Square, was remanded in Ikoyi Correctional Facility on Wednesday, February 26, following his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged money laundering involving N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, and his bail hearing was scheduled for Friday, February 28, 2025.

During the hearing, Paul Okoye made a bold move by offering one of his properties in Ikoyi, Lagos, valued at several billions of naira, to secure Jude’s bail.

Addressing the court, he stated, "My Lord, I have here with me documents of one of my properties situated in Ikoyi valued at several billions of naira, and I’m willing to drop it with the court, but please release my brother to me on bail today."

Outside the court premises, Rudeboy made a shocking claim, alleging that their twin brother, Peter Okoye, was responsible for Jude’s legal troubles.

"It's Peter that is doing this. He's putting him in prison, and I'm here to bring him out," Paul said.

Jude Okoye is facing trial alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Lagos on a seven-count charge. His legal troubles began after Peter Okoye petitioned the EFCC over a "secret company" he allegedly discovered, which listed Jude and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye, as founders and directors. The company was reportedly involved in handling some of P-Square’s royalties without Peter’s knowledge.

Following Jude's arraignment, Paul Okoye took to his Instagram Story with a cryptic message, seemingly directed at Peter.

“Exactly what he wants. This too shall pass. Stay strong, brother @judeengees.”

The ongoing legal battle has reignited tensions between the Okoye brothers, years after their highly publicized split as a music group.
