Peace ‘ll return two minutes after my release – Nnamdi Kanu (video)

The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has denounced the violence occurring in the southeastern part of the country and distanced himself from those perpetrating it in the name of IPOB.

Kanu made these remarks in Abuja immediately after being denied bail by the court on Tuesday. He emphasized that those involved in violence would not be spared, asserting that their actions persisted because he was in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

He expressed confidence that if released, he could bring about peace in the entire South-East region. Kanu stated, “Anybody committing crime cannot go free. I swear it. Anybody committing crime in the east cannot go free. They are doing it because I am in the DSS (custody). If I were to be outside, nobody can try this."

Kanu also hinted at potential government complicity in the insecurity, suggesting that some individuals might be profiting from the chaos. He reaffirmed his authority within IPOB, stating, “Who is the beggar or idiot that will speak when I am talking? I will give an order in the East, who is the idiot that I will give an order that will counter it? Nobody can. I am Nnamdi Kanu."

He concluded by warning that anyone involved in violence in the East under the guise of IPOB would face consequences once he was released from custody, asserting his ability to bring peace to the region within minutes of his freedom.
