Police Arrest 8 Suspects In Connection With The Murder of a University of Maiduguri Lecturer

The Borno State Police Command has revealed the apprehension of eight suspects linked to the homicide of Dr. Abdulkadir Kamal, a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).


According to LEADERSHIP, Dr. Kamal, a lecturer in the Department of Physical and Health Education, was brutally murdered by unidentified individuals in his office at the University on Sunday.


The spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, ASP Daso Kenneth, informed journalists in Maiduguri on Monday about the arrests.


Kenneth stated that upon receiving information about the incident, their personnel promptly took action and detained eight suspects connected to the murder.


He remarked, "The command received a distress call regarding the murder of Dr. Kamal; it was confirmed that he was killed in his office, and his car was stolen by the perpetrators."


"Eight individuals have been arrested thus far, and they are currently undergoing investigation to uncover those responsible for the crime," Kenneth added.


Additionally, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) urged for calm, reassuring the public that the Police Command was effectively handling the situation.
