"Political choices have consequences" Politician, Babatunde Gbadamosi says as he shares video of Lagosians being flogged while collecting free bread from the government (Video)

Residents of Lagos Island, who had gathered to receive palliatives, were not only provided with essential food items like loaves of bread to alleviate the challenges of the current economic downturn but also subjected to physical discipline in the form of cane lashes by the organizers during the distribution process.

The distribution event took a chaotic turn as residents queued up for their share of the free bread, resulting in some individuals being flogged by those overseeing the distribution.

A voice captured in the video expressed frustration, attributing the use of force to the affordability of bread being priced at a hundred Naira.

The footage, shared by politician and real estate developer Babatunde Gbadamosi, sheds light on the unfortunate events that unfolded on Lagos Island recently.

Gbadamosi, a former Lagos State gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Party, highlighted the significance of Lagos Island as the only Local Government Area where the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured the highest number of votes in the last elections.

He emphasized the cultural and political importance of Lagos Island as the epicenter of Yoruba influence worldwide, underscoring the irony that the individuals facing physical repercussions over a loaf of bread were predominantly Yoruba APC supporters.

Gbadamosi's poignant statement serves as a reminder that political decisions carry consequences, echoing the sentiment that the treatment endured by residents reflects the aftermath of their electoral choices.
