Rapper Chris King killed in Nashville at age 32 as close pal Justin Bieber pays tribute

Rapper Chris King was fatally shot in Nashville, Tenn., on April 20 in a shooting that left others injured. He was 32.

Rapper Chris King, aged 32, was tragically shot and killed in Nashville, Tenn., on April 20 during a shooting incident that also injured others.


The musician, known for his friendships with Justin Bieber, Machine Gun Kelly, Keke Palmer, and Trippie Redd, was in an alley with friends when unknown individuals approached them and attempted to rob them before shots were fired.

The Nashville Police Department confirmed that moments before the shooting, three men not known to King's group approached them and tried to rob them. The surviving victim, a 29-year-old, reported that they were hanging out before the suspects attempted the robbery and gunfire ensued, injuring him.


Christopher Cheeks, known as Chris King, was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.


King, real name Christopher Cheeks, was in an alley with pals when a shots fired in downtown Nashville.

The police homicide unit is actively investigating the incident, following strong leads.


King's celebrity friends took to social media to express their grief and pay tribute to him. Justin Bieber, who was once roommates with King, shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram Story, asking for prayers for King's family.

Other celebrities like Trippie Redd, Machine Gun Kelly, and Keke Palmer also expressed their love and condolences, highlighting King's impact on their lives and careers.


King had been active in the music industry for over a decade, releasing several mixtapes and LPs. His latest project, "Seeing Double Seeing Double," was released on April 8. He was in Nashville for a performance at the Nashville Cannafest before the tragic incident occurred.


Keke Palmer posted a throwback photo of the pair on a video call after hearing the sad news.
