Russia latest: Navalny poisoned by Kremlin, widow claims - as CCTV 'shows midnight convoy transporting body'
Alexei Navalny's wife has asserted that the husband was poisoned with Novichok, a lethal nerve agent, and expressed concern over the concealment of his body. Reports surfaced earlier today alleging that his mother and lawyer were denied access to the morgue.
Traffic cameras have seemingly recorded a Russian convoy transporting Alexei Navalny's body from prison to a morgue. Mediazona, a Russian media outlet, released overnight camera footage dated February 16-17, the same day as Navalny's reported death.
The footage from both cameras captures the convoy crossing the Ob River south of Labytnangi, the sole route between Kharp prison and Salekhard morgue, where Navalny's body is purportedly held. The distance between the prison and the hospital morgue in Salekhard is approximately an hour's drive.
Navalny's death was officially announced at 2:19 pm local time on February 16. The timestamps on the videos indicate the convoy's passage between 11:54 pm and 12:01 am local time.
The convoy comprises four vehicles, including leading and trailing police cars, a minibus, and another unmarked car. According to Mediazona, the minibus, displaying markings suggesting affiliation with the Federal Penitentiary Service, is a UAZ model.
