School bus carrying British children crashes with lorry on way to Alps

Pupils were due to spend a week in Austria over Easter having travelled from Pontyclun in south Wales

A bus full of Welsh school pupils collided with a lorry today while en route to a ski trip. The accident occurred in Germany as the children were heading to a ski resort in the Austrian Alps.

Fortunately, no children were injured in the incident, as confirmed by Ysgol Llanhari on their Instagram stories. The school also shared images of the students enjoying meals provided by the local fire service while awaiting alternative transportation following the crash.

Scheduled to spend a week in Austria over Easter, the students had departed from Pontyclun in south Wales. The school's Instagram story included a message: "Everyone is ok – a huge thank you to German emergency services. Our students' resilience is evident today!"

Expressing gratitude, a parent stated, "Thank you all for taking care of them and for doing such an amazing job. Glad everyone is safe, and well done to the bus driver for ensuring no child was hurt."

The school responded, "They're making us proud despite what's happened! Hoping to resume our journey soon."

The collision took place on the B10 highway, which connects Saarland to Bavaria.
