Seattle Police Officers Under Investigation for Beating Man at Bus Stop (Video)
Two Seattle police officers are under investigation after being filmed beating a man with batons at a bus stop. The footage, posted online, shows the officers repeatedly hitting the man last Friday.
In the 40-second video, one officer grabs the man's hair and pins him down with a knee to the back of his head. The clip does not show what led to the altercation.
Seattle's Office of Police Accountability (OPA), a city watchdog, is investigating the incident. Interim Police Chief Sue Rahr, who took over last week following the removal of Adrian Diaz, acknowledged the public's concern after reviewing the video.
"While OPA is conducting a comprehensive investigation as required by our accountability process, my staff is gathering information, including all available videos, for my review to get a more complete picture of the entire incident," Rahr stated.
It is unclear if the officers have been suspended during the investigation or what happened to the man involved.
