Shock as journalist Tinina found dead in her bedroom

Friends and relatives of Rita Tinina are grappling with the sudden loss of the veteran journalist, whose untimely death was discovered yesterday at her residence in the Brooklyn Springs Apartments in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

The cause of her death remains uncertain, as there were no prior indications of any health issues before she retired to bed on Saturday night. Tinina, who was scheduled to work at NTV, failed to show up for her duties, prompting concern among her colleagues who were preparing for the 1pm bulletin.

At home, she resided with her nine-year-old daughter and a house girl, who became alarmed when Tinina did not wake up as usual. Upon knocking on her bedroom door and receiving no response, the house help entered to find Tinina unresponsive.

The house help then reached out to a family friend who had last seen Tinina on Saturday night. The friend contacted the police after confirming the distressing situation.

Apart from her work at NTV, Tinina was also associated with Standard Group's KTN.

Upon the news of her passing, numerous journalists hurried to her residence, where police authorities had already taken charge of the situation.

An outpouring of grief flooded social media platforms as colleagues, fans, and leaders expressed their sorrow over the loss of a respected journalist.
