Swedish Rapper C.Gambino Fatally Shot in Gothenburg Parking Lot Ambush

The Swedish rap scene was shaken as award-winning masked rapper C.Gambino, real name Karar Ramadan, was gunned down in an ambush in a Gothenburg car park. The 26-year-old, recently named rapper of the year, was a prominent figure in Sweden's music industry, with millions of monthly listeners on Spotify and a Grammi award to his name.

According to police reports, C.Gambino was attacked by one or more assailants waiting for him at a garage in Gothenburg. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the ambush, with images from the scene depicting bullet holes in a glass door.

Authorities have linked the killing to a gang conflict, noting that C.Gambino was a known figure to law enforcement. A murder inquiry has been launched, but no arrests have been made yet.

C.Gambino's recent release, 'Sista Gang' (Last Time), garnered significant attention, amassing 700,000 streams on Swedish platform Spotify since its release on May 31. His tragic death has left a void in the rap community, with experts like Petter Hallen describing him as 'one of Swedish hip hop's greats.'

The incident adds to Sweden's ongoing struggle with gang violence, with shootings and bombings becoming increasingly frequent. Following C.Gambino's killing, police conducted raids and questioned several individuals but have yet to identify a suspect.

Witnesses reported seeing a silver Volvo V70 leaving the scene, prompting authorities to appeal to the public for any information regarding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as Sweden grapples with the repercussions of escalating gang-related violence.
