Sword-wielding attacker goes on rampage on streets of London, at least 5 injured

A sword-wielding attacker in east London on Tuesday morning left five people, including two police officers, hospitalized after crashing his van into a house and stabbing people at random.

Police responded to the incident in Thurlow Gardens just before 7 a.m., where a man crashed his vehicle into a house and stabbed multiple people, including two police officers.

The Metropolitan Police, in a statement, said a 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan stated, "We do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the wider community. We are not looking for more suspects. This incident does not appear to be terror-related."

A witness to the attack described seeing a man "running around with a samurai sword" and "stabbing four people after crashing his van into a house." However, police have not shared the conditions of those hospitalized.
