Teacher jailed for using sex toys on student, 13, who she called 'babe'

A female teacher has been sentenced to 12 years in jail for reportedly using "sex toys" on an underage student.

Lindsey Rose Schneeberger, 25, received the sentence after admitting guilt to first-degree criminal sexual conduct last month involving a female student at Pine Island Schools, Minnesota.

During a hearing at Olmsted District Court on April 1, the court learned that the student, aged 14, had been able to identify several "sexual items" found at Schneeberger’s residence, believed to have been used during their alleged sexual encounters. The student had reportedly been 13 at the time of the abuse.

Expressing her distress during the sentencing, the student told the judge, "I now go to school and deal with the certainty that people look at me differently."

Schneeberger is slated to serve her term at Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee.

The former teacher was arrested in May 2023 following a report from the victim’s mother, who stated her daughter had been sexually assaulted by Schneeberger. The court was presented with evidence of inappropriate texts sent by Schneeberger to the student, using terms like "babe" and "baby."

The criminal complaint outlined that the incidents took place between April and May 2023 at Schneeberger's Rochester residence. At the time of her arrest, Schneeberger had resigned from her position, having worked as a middle school physical education instructor and 7th-grade volleyball coach.

It's alleged that the victim’s mother was initially aware of her daughter spending time at Schneeberger's home.

Schneeberger expressed remorse in court, saying, "Every day I wake up feeling ashamed of what I’ve done."

Although Schneeberger's attorney sought a probation sentence citing her remorse, and asked for no additional prison time, the underage victim addressed the court, requesting what she deemed a "proper

sentence."

The judge Kevin Chase was reportedly moved by the student’s statement and handed the teacher a prison sentence of 12 years.
