An 18-year-old Texas teen, Aaron Richard, was discovered covered in dried blood inside his wrecked pickup truck but is reportedly refusing to help law enforcement unravel the mystery of what happened.

Deputies from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office found Richard early Monday morning in his white, single-cab 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck after responding to a "major accident" off Interstate 20 in Fort Worth, Texas, according to a statement on Facebook.

A large amount of blood was found on the outside of the teen's truck.

Upon arrival, deputies noted "a large amount of dried blood on the pickup and the suspect." Richard was "uncooperative when asked about the source of the blood" and refused to assist in the investigation. The sheriff’s office detailed noticeable damage to the driver’s side door, the tailgate, and the front left quarter panel, along with "a large amount of blood along the driver’s side A-frame, as well as the outside of the bed."

Authorities suspect the blood found on Richard and his truck does not belong to him and was not a result of the crash, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Richard was arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated and booked into Lon Evans Corrections Center. The sheriff’s office has not confirmed if anyone is in danger or if a more serious crime has occurred. Officials have also not disclosed what may have led to Richard crashing the truck or whether he required medical attention after the wreck. He was released on a $500 bond Monday evening, arrest records show.

Richard is currently serving a six-month probation sentence for a disorderly conduct charge in Haltom City, about five miles outside of Fort Worth, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Law enforcement is asking for the public's help in providing any information that could clarify why Richard and his truck were covered in blood.
