Ten year old strangles age mate during an argument on a football pitch in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into a tragic incident involving ten-year-old Israel Ogunleye, who was reportedly strangled by another ten-year-old, Evbota Ezekiel, in the Ejigbo area of the state on March 28.

According to police reports, the father of the deceased informed authorities that his son was playing football with other boys at Oluwole Street, Powerline in Ejigbo, near his mother's shop. The father stated that an argument ensued among the boys, during which Emmanuel allegedly held his son by the neck and strangled him until he passed away.

Upon receiving the report, police personnel swiftly responded to the scene and discovered the boy's lifeless body. He was immediately transported to General Hospital Isolo, where medical professionals pronounced him dead on arrival. Subsequently, his body was moved to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the command, confirmed the incident to LIB, stating that the matter is currently under investigation.
