Terrorists kill soldier, abduct stepmother in Kaduna

A soldier identified as Yahaya Ayuba (also known as Zabuyia) has tragically lost his life, while his stepmother was abducted in Anguwan Rimi village, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The sad incident was confirmed by a family member, Mr. Kantiok Solomon on Monday.

According to Solomon, the soldier had returned from Lagos on Sunday evening and was engaged in a discussion with his family members at the palace when gunmen wielding AK-47 rifles entered the house.

"The incident occurred last Sunday around 11:00 pm when the bandits invaded the house to abduct the stepmother. However, the soldier resisted," Solomon explained. "Upon noticing his uniform hanging on the cushion, the gunmen ruthlessly gunned him down without hesitation."

Another resident, Angelo Tagwai, also verified the incident, expressing deep concern over the repeated occurrences of such violence in the community.

"This is the third time such a tragic incident has happened in our community, causing immense confusion and fear among the residents," Tagwai stated.

Community members are urging security operatives to swiftly intervene, rescue the abducted stepmother, and ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.

Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, for comment were unsuccessful as calls and messages went unanswered.
