A Texas attorney lost his life tragically after intervening in a tense situation at a McDonald's branch in Houston. Jeffrey Limmer, 46, had stepped in to calm down an irate customer who was shouting at the McDonald's employees about his order.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday at 6 pm at the McDonald's located on 8147 Katy Freeway. Limmer, known for his desire to stand up for others and do what's right, tried to pacify the customer as the situation escalated. Unfortunately, the confrontation turned physical, leading to a scuffle outside the store.

He tried to calm the man down and then as they walked out of the store together arguing, the angry man walked to his car, pulled out a gun and shot him

During the altercation, the enraged customer retrieved a gun from his car and fatally shot Limmer twice before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck. Limmer's sister, Jennifer Thomas, shared that it was typical of her brother to step in and defuse heated situations, as he had always advocated for fairness and justice.

Limmer was a dedicated attorney at a local law office, Lewis Brisbois, and had a strong educational background, having attended the University of Texas and graduated from South Texas College of Law. Thomas mentioned that Limmer often frequented this particular McDonald's and might have been there on Saturday evening to work.

Limmer's sister, Jennifer Thomas, told ABC13 it was unsurprising he had stepped in, saying, 'he's always wanted to fight for the little guy and do the right thing.'

The Houston Police Department responded swiftly to the shooting incident, which unfolded amidst a dispute over an order at the fast-food restaurant. Witnesses recounted Limmer's brave attempts to de-escalate the situation before it turned violent. Friends and colleagues remember Limmer as a compassionate and courageous individual, always willing to stand up for what he believed was right.
