Three boys charged with murder of teen days before his 18th birthday
Three teenagers have been charged with the murder of Prince Walker-Ayeni, a teenager who was just days away from turning 18. Prince was found with serious stab wounds on Raby Street in Moss Side, Manchester, and despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The three 16-year-old boys, whose names cannot be disclosed due to legal reasons, were arrested after the stabbing and have now been charged with Prince's murder. They are currently in custody and are set to appear at Manchester Youth Court this Thursday.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Higginson, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, described the case as shocking and tragic, emphasizing that the investigation is progressing swiftly. He mentioned ongoing efforts to piece together the events leading to Prince's death and highlighted the significant progress made with the arrests.
Prince's sister, Kacee, expressed the family's devastation, saying they are "so heartbroken" and already miss talking to her brother dearly. Another individual, unnamed in the report, mentioned that Prince was preparing for his upcoming birthday celebration, which would have taken place last week.
The family is receiving support from specialist officers, and the police have conducted several warrants and property searches as part of the murder investigation.
