Tragic Accident: 15-Year-Old Girl Decapitated by Power Line While Taking Selfies on Rooftop in Guatemala (video)

Débora Rebeca was hanging out with friends when tragedy struck.

A horrifying video captured the tragic moment a 15-year-old girl, Débora Rebeca Xi Artola, was decapitated by a high-tension power line while dancing and taking selfies with friends on a rooftop in La Tinta, Guatemala.

The incident occurred last Thursday as Artola and three friends were practicing dance moves on top of a two-story building, with at least one of them taking pictures, according to El Heraldo. While on the roof, Artola accidentally touched the power cable, which delivered a fatal shock of thousands of volts.

The teen was electrocuted by thousands of volts of electricity.

Video footage shows the aftermath as horrified onlookers below witnessed the girl's body initially rest on the power line, surrounded by smoke. Tragically, her head snapped off, causing her to fall approximately 20 feet to the pavement below.

Débora Rebeca Xi Artola was electrocuted while hanging out with friends last week.

Artola's devastated mother, Andrea Xi, paid tribute to her daughter on Facebook, sharing photos of the beaming teen from her quinceañera celebration in March. “I love you forever. My princess,” one post read, while another said, “My first and great love.”

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to confirm that it was a tragic accident.
