Tragic Highway Collision in Bolivia: Bus Plunges Into Ravine, Killing at Least 31

A devastating highway accident in southern Bolivia early Monday morning left at least 31 people dead and 22 others injured after a truck collided with a bus, forcing it off the road and down a steep ravine, police confirmed.
Police spokesperson Limbert Choque reported that the victims included both men and women, as emergency responders rushed to the scene. The bus rolled approximately 500 meters (1,640 feet) down a ravine following the crash, which occurred on the highway connecting Oruro and the mining city of Potosí.

Bolivian President Luis Arce extended condolences to the victims' families, stating on social media: “This unfortunate event must be investigated to establish responsibilities. We send our most sincere condolences to the bereaved families, wishing them the necessary strength to face these difficult times.”
Authorities have arrested the truck driver as investigations continue into the cause of the accident. The tragedy comes just days after a separate collision in the same region claimed the lives of more than three dozen people in a bus crash.
