Trans sex offender busted allegedly trying to abduct child playing outside elementary school
A transgender registered sex offender was caught in a disturbing mugshot after being arrested for allegedly attempting to abduct a child from a Colorado elementary school.
Solomon Galligan, 33, was apprehended after he entered a field where children were playing at Black Forest Hills Elementary School in Aurora last Friday afternoon.
Surveillance footage captured Galligan approaching the students just moments before they dispersed and began shouting, “Stranger danger.” Galligan reportedly seized one of the children but lost his grip when he stumbled over a white blanket he was carrying, as stated in the police report.
The child nearly abducted later informed authorities that the suspect had white powder on his face and smelled of alcohol.
After the incident, Galligan fled the scene but was later located by police at a nearby Walgreens, where he was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping. The suspect, identified as male in the arrest affidavit, publicly shared his transition news on Facebook in 2011.
“So I’m starting my hormone shots and I really can’t wait. I’m on my hormone pills, I’ve been on them for almost 4 months. I wake up all depressed and crying but in the end, it’s going to be totally worth it, you know what I mean? I’m really excited; my measurements are already changing, and I’m super thrilled,” he wrote.
Galligan was previously placed on the sex offender registry and was convicted that same year for non-consensual sexual contact, according to his latest arrest affidavit. Details regarding the 2011 incident were not immediately available.
Following his recent arrest, Galligan is being held at the Aurora jail on a $25,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
