Two female teachers stood down for sexting student, trying to initiate foursome
Two business teachers from Janesville’s Joseph A. Craig High School, Alexsia Saldaris and Jennifer Larson, have resigned following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student during a school trip.
The Janesville School District confirmed the acceptance of their resignations on April 22. Saldaris had been with the district for one year, while Larson had been a part of the school system for 11 years.
An investigation into the matter uncovered a timeline of events during the school trip from April 7 to April 9. The district's summary of the investigation, obtained through an open records request by WMTV, revealed that both teachers engaged in inappropriate communication with "Student A" through Snapchat, expressing desires to cuddle and "have fun" with the student and even suggesting the involvement of another student.
The report detailed that Saldaris gave keys to a district van to the student for a joyride in the parking lot. It also mentioned an alleged incident where Saldaris and the student shared "a half kiss" in the back of the van while she was changing shoes.
On the evening of April 9, Saldaris reportedly sent the student five photos of herself in lingerie and undergarments via Snapchat, with subsequent text messages planning a weekend meeting.
The investigation further noted that Larson reported the van incident to Principal Dr. Alison Bjoin on April 10, prompting an end to the "relationship" between Saldaris and the student. A subsequent report from another teacher raised concerns about students viewing inappropriate photos of Saldaris.
Both teachers were placed on paid administrative leave on April 12, leading to their eventual resignation. The school board has concluded its investigation, and Janesville police are now involved to determine potential criminal charges.
