Video shows moment helicopter crashes into building in Colombia, with everyone on board surviving

Recently released footage captures the harrowing moment a helicopter lost control shortly after takeoff from a rooftop in Colombia.

Despite adverse weather conditions in Medellín, Colombia, on Monday night, with strong winds buffeting the area, all six occupants—two pilots and four passengers—miraculously survived the incident.

The video depicts the helicopter rapidly spiraling out of control mere seconds after becoming airborne, eventually plummeting back towards the helipad atop a nearby building. Within moments, the aircraft became wedged between the structure and a communications antenna.

Reports indicate that over 70 emergency responders participated in the rescue effort, which lasted approximately an hour and a half. Although the pilot sustained a broken leg and lacerations, the remaining passengers suffered only minor injuries, not requiring hospitalization.

Following the rescue operation, authorities safely removed what remained of the helicopter from the scene. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.

The scheduled tourist flights, offering a 12 to 15-minute aerial tour of Medellín followed by refreshments at the aviation-themed Hangar M45 bar, have been indefinitely postponed in light of the incident.
