Viral Video Shows Moments Before Accident that Killed Three ABSU Medical Students Returning From Induction Ceremony

Three Medicine and Surgery students from Abia State University, Uturu, tragically lost their lives in a car accident on the Enugu-Umuahia Expressway's Okigwe axis, with two others sustaining injuries on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

The victims, returning from the school’s induction ceremony for medical students, were involved in the accident when their vehicle's driver lost control and somersaulted.

Fredrick Ogiden, the FRSC Corps Commander in Abia State, confirmed the incident, describing the vehicle as an ash-colored Toyota Camry.

One of the deceased students, identified as Favour Okpanku, shared a video moments before the accident, showing her in the car with red leather seats. Sadly, the car crashed, leading to the loss of lives and injuries.

Following the tragic news, friends and acquaintances expressed their grief and shared heartfelt messages of remembrance for Favour and her fellow students. The community mourns the loss of these promising medical students, highlighting the sudden and devastating nature of the accident.
