Wealthy Businessman Wrecks £300,000 Lamborghini in Chaotic Chase After Thief Steals £30,000 Rolex (video)

The lime green sportscar was seen crashing into the bike before slamming into the traffic pole which snapped in half following the impact

A wealthy businessman in Brazil had his £30,000 Rolex stolen while sitting at a traffic light before wrecking his uninsured £300,000 Lamborghini in a chaotic chase to catch the thief. The 64-year-old driver pursued the mugger, who had swiped the watch at gunpoint and tried to escape on a motorbike.

During the chase through a Sao Paolo street, the victim knocked the thief off his Honda Twister, but in doing so, he destroyed his luxury green sports car by crashing into the bike and a traffic light pole. The thief managed to flee on foot, taking the stolen Rolex with him.

The Honda Twister was left in a heap of scraps but the thief managed to flee on foot with the watch in hand

The incident, which occurred just after midday on Sunday, was captured in shocking footage. The video shows the lime green Lamborghini speeding after the motorbike before veering left and crashing with force. Smoke drifted from the bonnet as the top half of the traffic pole snapped and fell.

The driver and his passenger were unharmed but helplessly watched as the thief escaped. Local police, having identified the suspect through the number plate left on the motorbike, are expected to make an arrest soon.

The suspect left behind his phone and handgun at the scene.

The unnamed driver, who suffered minor cuts, said, "I had to hand my watch over because my mugger had a gun." A police spokesman confirmed the driver deliberately accelerated into the thief in an attempt to stop him. The suspect's motorbike, gun, and mobile phone were left at the scene.
