Wife Calls 911 ‘I’m bleeding to death’ after NJ neighbor shoots her and husband

A New Jersey woman made a desperate plea for help in a 911 call after she and her husband were shot by their neighbor, expressing fears for her life and asking dispatchers to relay a final message to her children if she did not survive.
Jill Kwatkoski and her husband, Tom, suffered severe injuries when their neighbor, John Adamo, 54, opened fire on them outside their home in Berkeley Township on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities stated that the shooting stemmed from a long-standing dispute between the neighbors.
"Please get the cops here, I’m bleeding to death," Jill cried in the 911 recording. "I can’t leave my kids. If I do, please tell them that I love them."

During the call, she informed dispatchers that she believed her husband had already succumbed to his injuries. "My husband, I think he’s dead outside and my leg is killing me," she said. "There’s blood everywhere."
When asked about the weapon used, she described it as a rifle. "It looks like a f--king rifle. It looked like a rifle. Please hurry," she urged.
Law enforcement reported that Adamo shot Tom Kwatkoski while he was outside the home around 4:45 p.m. He then fired additional rounds at the couple’s house, striking Jill as she stood inside.

After the attack, Adamo barricaded himself inside his residence for two hours before taking his own life. SWAT teams responded to the scene, eventually forcing entry into his home. Authorities evacuated nearby residents after discovering a pressure cooker in Adamo’s bedroom, but the New Jersey State Police bomb squad determined it was not an explosive device.
The victims were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where they were initially listed in critical but stable condition. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
