Woman Arrested for Husband’s Murder After Posting About Other Women Plotting Against Her Marriage

A Philadelphia woman has been accused of fatally shooting her husband and leaving his body on a plastic sheet outside their home, just days after posting a cryptic message on social media about their marriage. Danielle Baxter, 39, was arrested on Thursday, March 20, and charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, and possession of an instrument of crime with intent.

The incident came to the attention of authorities just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, when police responded to a report of someone screaming on the 800 block of Bells Mill Road. Arriving officers discovered the victim, later identified as Jordan Baxter, 38, on a plastic sheet between two parked cars. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the back of his head. Detectives also found blood on a mattress inside the couple’s home. Baxter was pronounced dead at 7:07 a.m.

Investigators began their inquiry and arrested the victim’s wife the following day. Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the alleged murder. However, on March 14, Danielle Baxter posted a message on Facebook suggesting turmoil in her relationship with Jordan, stating, ‘These females out here be plotting on your marriage and waiting for your downfall so they can come right on in and these men let them.’

Jordan Baxter, a father of three, worked as a Regional Rail engineer for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). In response to the tragedy, a SEPTA spokesperson issued a statement expressing sorrow over his passing: ‘SEPTA is saddened by the tragic loss of Jordan Baxter, who was a veteran Regional Rail engineer. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time.’
