Woman Returns Home and Meets a Critically Injured stranger Covered in Blood on Her Sofa

Virginia authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a critically injured man found inside a Warrenton home. The incident occurred Thursday night when a homeowner returned to her rural residence and found a stranger on her sofa, suffering from multiple wounds and surrounded by blood.
Deputies from the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 9:50 p.m. after the homeowner, who has not been publicly identified, called for assistance. She reported hearing the man crying as she entered the house. Upon noticing that her garage door was open, she stepped inside and saw a figure on the couch before immediately retreating to her vehicle and calling the police.

"I never saw him. I just heard a man crying,” she said. “I hadn't turned the lights on, and I could tell somebody was on the sofa, and it looked like they had a blanket that I keep there on the sofa pulled over them."
Emergency responders performed first aid on the man before transporting him to Winchester Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released his identity or details regarding the nature of his injuries.
Officials are investigating whether the man, who was not from the area, was the victim of a crime. The sheriff’s office has not provided additional information as the investigation remains ongoing.
