World’s tallest man Sutan Kosen meets world’s shortest woman & she fit in his shoe – they share unique set of challenges
The tallest man in the world met up with the shortest living woman, showcasing their remarkable size difference.
On Monday, Sultan Kosen, 41, and Jyoti Amge, 30, met in California for a delightful rendezvous, capturing awe-inspiring photographs that truly emphasize their contrasting heights.
Kosen, hailing from Turkey, stands as the tallest man globally, towering at an astounding height of 8 feet 3 inches. Meanwhile, Amge, from India, holds the title of the shortest living woman, measuring just above 2 feet tall.
Both Kosen and Amge were bestowed with their prestigious titles by Guinness World Records in 2011.
Amge's petite stature is a result of achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism that halted her growth at her current height.
Kosen's remarkable size is attributed to a tumor that led to pituitary gigantism, a medical condition causing excessive growth.
Their initial encounter took place in 2018, courtesy of an invitation from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, where they explored historic sites and attended a conference at the Fairmont Nile City Hotel in Cairo.
During a captivating photo session at the pyramids of Giza, the stark contrast in their heights was striking, with Amge barely reaching Kosen's knee.
Now, five years later, their reunion continues to captivate as they showcase their size difference in a series of breathtaking photographs.
In one image, Amge stands on Kosen's lap as he sits, her height merely reaching his collarbone.
In another playful shot, Amge poses beside Kosen's shoe, mimicking his stance with one leg tucked in and the other out, giving a thumbs-up to the camera.
A final image takes their size difference to new heights as Amge sits atop Kosen's shoe while he holds another shoe next to her, highlighting the vast contrast in size.
Despite the challenges associated with their respective statures, both Kosen and Amge exude resilience and positivity.
In his Guinness World Records acceptance interview, Kosen mentioned the difficulty of finding clothes and shoes that fit his unique size, with each of his feet measuring around one foot long, equivalent to a US Men's size 14.
Similarly, Amge embraces creativity in fashion due to her size, expressing her passion for style and creativity.
"People like me might be small in stature, but they can also act. Regular people should not underestimate people who are small," Amge remarked to Guinness World Records.
In addition to her world record, Amge has also made a mark as the world's shortest actress, appearing in an Indian reality TV show and "American Horror Story" as Ma Petite in season four.
While Amge thrives in the limelight, Kosen has faced challenges, particularly in his personal life, expressing difficulties in finding a partner due to his towering height. However, he eventually found love and married Merve Dibo, who stands at 5 feet 9 inches, reaching around the bottom of Kosen's ribcage.
