Yoruba market women bemoan Tinubu’s government, promise to beat president up one-on-one (Video)

Market women in Ogun State, particularly the Yoruba community, have criticized the economic policies implemented by President Bola Tinubu's administration, attributing them to the rising prices of goods and the resulting hardships faced by Nigerians.

In a viral video shared by Somto Okonkwo on Monday, the aggrieved market women expressed their frustrations to a Sugarlink Concepts reporter in their local dialect, condemning the exorbitant prices of goods across the country.

The traders voiced their disappointment with President Tinubu, accusing him of failing to uphold Yoruba values and fulfill his promises to the people. They even went as far as threatening physical confrontation with the president.

One elderly woman remarked, "He’s not behaving like a Yoruba man; he has disappointed us in Yoruba land."

A fish seller lamented, "As things are now, we’re tired. A carton of sardine is N100,000."

Another trader appealed to the president to show mercy on Nigerians, highlighting the daily struggle caused by the increasing cost of living.

The dire situation was emphasized by an elderly woman who pointed out the alarming number of deaths resulting from starvation and economic hardship under President Tinubu's administration.

Expressing their grievances further, the traders vowed to confront the president if given the chance, citing the vast disparity between his promises and the current reality.

Amidst their pleas for relief, the market women recounted the significant losses incurred due to inflated prices, particularly in essential commodities like petrol, fish, and staple foods like garri and plantains.

Their outcry underscores the urgent need for solutions to alleviate the economic burden faced by ordinary Nigerians, urging the government to address the root causes of the escalating cost of living.
