Zamfara State Police Arrest Suspected Bandits' Informant Coordinating Attacks

The Zamfara State Police Command, in collaboration with the vigilante group Askarawa, has arrested Bashir Bature Kaura, a suspected informant for bandits.

According to security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, Kaura allegedly coordinated attacks and kidnappings in Kaura and Gusau, the state capital of Zamfara.

Kaura, who lived among the residents, worked with notorious bandit kingpin Dogo Idi to orchestrate these attacks. He is accused of organizing the recent kidnapping of Mansur Kaura, the manager of TAJ Bank.

Zagazola emphasized that the arrest highlights the ongoing issue of local support and faceless informants aiding banditry and terrorism in the region.
